It’s not that their West Coast realtor was lacking; rather, the pressures and dynamics in different regions vary greatly. Another story involves a realtor from rural Ohio who reached out to me for assistance with her client’s investment property in Chicago. We had an insightful conversation comparing our markets. She explained how rural real estate involves unique issues like land rights, well water access, and maintaining private roads. She was familiar with every local nuance, from community relations to potential conflicts. We both realized how specialized our knowledge was to our respective areas, with her saying, “I wouldn’t know where to start in your market,” and me responding, “My skills would be out of place in yours!”
